Success

Success depends on perspective. A baby's definition of success may be taking their first steps. To a child, it may be getting an award at school. To an adult, it could be getting promoted.

Success depends on what you want to do with your life and what brings you joy and accomplishment. Recently, my book, Cathy’s Travel Diary, was accepted in the Frankston City Council library. I was overjoyed, but I knew there was m0re left in my journey to success. This was only a milestone in an even bigger picture. Every small step takes you further along in that journey. Even this blog is a milestone for me. My point is that no matter how big or small your dreams of success may be, every small step towards that goal counts. So, you should never feel discouraged, and you should never give up. As long as you keep going with your passions and dreams, you are making progress. Never give up. Because quitting is the worst thing you could do.

Milestones No matter how big or small your path to success is, you will have to reach certain milestones before you achieve your goal. If you want to be a marine biologist when you grow up, the first milestone might just be going to an aquarium. If you want to start drawing better pictures, you might start by watching tutorials or looking at other people’s work.

But you shouldn’t stop there. The next milestone will be harder to reach than the first, and then the next will be even harder and harder and harder. But you will get there if you work hard. Setting milestones for your journey to success can help you stay on the right track. According to your dreams and hopes, you can set your milestones. If they are small ones, you'll probably have quite a lot of them. But if they are bigger, you'll probably have fewer of them. However, I suggest setting smaller milestones, as they can give you a clearer idea of what you're going to do. Just not so small that you go crazy. Your Own Pace You may notice your friends achieving success left and right while you are still in the early stages. Disregard them. You can say congratulations, of course, but don’t feel intimidated in any sort of way. They will go at their own pace, and you will go at yours. You may just be biding your time and forming a strong foundation for your success so that you don't tumble later. But if your friends are doing the same thing as you and still beating you, do not worry. Your success relies on you. not your friends. Just you. Instead of comparing yourself to them and ruining your self-confidence, take their advice so that you can soar forward. Or, given that they are rockets, skyrocket up... never mind. My point is, don’t try to beat others. Try to beat your own personal bests and beat your own records. Depending on you, your journey to success may have just started, or it may be nearing its end. But remember, success and goals are similar. After one success, you will start another. Success depends on perspective. For you, it may be achieving fame, joy, or popularity. For me, right now, it is finishing this blog.
